Daewon was destined to become known as a semiconductor injection molding company with uncompromising quality. In 1975, Daewon pioneered the development of polypropylene clothing tags, the "T" shaped tags that hold price tags on new clothes. This innovative product saved time for retailers and the market developed rapidly in the United States, Europe, Japan, and many parts of the world.
Daewon developed plastic shipping tubes for integrated circuits as its first product in the semiconductor industry.
Subsequently in 1991, Daewon introduced its first Integrated Circuit shipping trays. Prior to this time, because of the precision manufacturing requirements, JEDEC IC trays had only been manufactured in the United States and Japan. As the semiconductor industry advanced, the semiconductor packaging industry received greater demands for quality, precision engineering, advanced materials, and shorter lead times. And Daewon was successful in meeting these challenges.
Daewon has always strived to recruit good people and to train them in processes with strong business ethics. Daewon expanded its design capabilities and developed in-house production mold capability in order to meet the demands of the rapidly changing semiconductor industry.
