Acoustic vibrations from fans, doors and other sources can prevent accurate measurements by disturbing equipment and causing temperature changes. The acrylic hoods are simply placed over the equipment onto a worktop and prevent disturbances reaching sensitive instruments such as balances and microscopes. Hoods should be placed on a flat surface using the base tray provided.
