Line bushings are used to electrically connect equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. The connection is always established either between a flameproof enclosure and an enclosure of another type of protection in accordance with DIN EN 60079-0. Alternatively, two flameproof enclosures are connected. Thus cables are protected from direct contact. Varying with the design, line bushings can be used in intrinsically safe, measuring, control or energy circuits. Line busings that do not feature cables, i. e. they are only cast, can be used to seal flameproof enclosures of the “d“ type of protection. Via line bushings, holes or threads can be closed. If the system is to be extended at a later time, if required, line bushings containing cables can replace the existing, sealed ones.
Approval
Our line bushings got the IECEx, GOST, CSA, CSA-US,FM(in accordance to UL-standards) etc. approvals and can be used international wide.
For the european community (ATEX) we have a 'X'-approval, so that you can use this line bushing in excisting products without a re-approval of your product.
Build up
Description
Quintex line bushings are available in two designs: screwable and plugable. The default sizes of skrewable line bushings range from M10 to M42. If other sizes are required for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, they need to be discussed with certification bodies. With the pluggable variant, sizes are adjusted to those of sscrewable line bushings. An essential feature of Quintex line bushings is the high adhesion of cast resin on cables. In this aspect, Quintex relies on its experience and is, thus, not willing to compromise: Radox cables are high-temperature resistant and proved to be very adhesive. The cast resin used in Quintex line bushings is a certified future-proof cast resin. It is no special solution that may at some point no longer be produced. Line bushings are used to electrically connect equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. The connection is always established either between a flameproof enclosure and an enclosure of another type of protection in accordance with DIN EN 60079-0. Alternatively, two flameproof enclosures are connected. Thus cables are protected from direct contact
Varying with the design, line bushings can be used in intrinsically safe, measuring, control or energy circuits By the definition of the threads on adaption to a standard enclosure is very easy.
Standardized the threads are M10 bis M42 with strands cross-section from 0.08mm² up to 180mm², variation on this must be approved by a notified body in the case of Ex application.
Very often the screwable line bushings are used to connect the 'increased safety' enclosure with a 'flameproof d-' enclosure.By this there is a direct connection between increased safety enclosure (Ex e) and flameproof enclosure(Ex e).
The advantage of this combination is that you have access to needed terminals and/or switches and the flameproof enclosure content the 'non ex' devices.

The strands will be connected to terminal in the increased safety enclosure(Ex e)

By the plugability you need a locking ring and a screw up protection Standardized the diameter is 10mm up to 40mm variation on this must be approved by a notified body in the case of Ex application.
The use of the 'two-path' - line bushing is recommended if the location of the strands must be variable to the final assembly, regardless of the final position of the screwed sleeve. Until the final assembly, the cable bushing is rotatable and shall fixed after completion (mandatory)
